executioner's strike vs bodyblow
i have seen many ppl using body blow instead of executioner's strike.
My question is, why? axe15, str 13 executioner's deals + 40 dmg , costs 8 adrenaline and bodyblow +36dmg , costs 7 adrenaline. Imo exe is better, exept in gvg where eles are doing "shellshock".
and plz no flame

Well, never run major or superiors on axe, that +4 damage is not worth that 75 hp. So now you should have 14 axe and 13 strength. For only 2 less damage, you can perform a second deepwound but also at 1 less adrenaline. At least that's my way of thinking it.
I still use Exe though, too lazy to go out and buy EotN and Nightfall.

It's because people normally run a 12+1+1 axe and 12+1 strength 3 air when doing an Evis/Shock build.
[Executioners [email protected]] vs [Body [email protected]]
Difference = conditional DW, 1 adren, 2 damage.
Edit: They beat me to it. -.-

[Body [email protected]] + [Bull's [email protected]]/[disrupting [email protected]] lets you threaten Paras a whole lot; forcing the enemy monks to burn more energy. That potential Para-spike is worth the 2 less damage.
Also, the lower adrenaline cost lets you throw BB around more as a random 'oh shit' attack for the enemy monks to deal with.

Just to add, Alex, it can also be used for a fake spike on Paragons while they have Cracked Armour on them.
And it's only 2 damage less than Exe Strike at 14 Axe, with less adrenaline cost.

I tend to still use executioners just out of force of habit.

I switched to Bobyblow recently, the damage difference is insgnificant to me and the possible deep wound is nice.

Because you're not just executing your target, you're tearing its body apart.

I like executioners chop much more and most axe bars exe chop follows evisc so no need for deep wound and u loose deep wonud if ur target doesnt have cracked armor.... so id say exe

Body Blow isn't used for the Deep Wound sometimes.
Maybe to fake spikes on Paragons while they have Cracked Armour.

I prefer bodyblow ~ the deep wound effect is irrelevent (personally) in most cases but the lower adrenaline cost compared to the negligable damage difference to excecutioners wins out for me, when I run a 14/13 split Axe/Str. Plus having some Paragon hate is always nice.

It's similar in power with Executioner's Strike for lower cost, and has additional power on foes with Cracked Armor. If it's worth getting Executioner's Strike (and it is), then it's worth getting Body Blow.

There isn't really much else to say on the matter. In PvE, if you've got a Necro with [[Weaken Armor] then Body Blow is basically a better form of Eviscerate. If there are Paras with [[Aggressive Refrain], then you can fake a spike with it, thus forcing the Monks to use energy on prot/condition removal. BB is 2 less damage but at 1 less adr, so unless you're looking for another attack and already have BB, there isn't as much reason to run Executioners.

And add to that you can run Body Blow on a sword build.

None, and that is how the cracked armor mechanic was designed. Warriors, rangers, paragons, and dervishes have skills that benefit from targets with cracked armor, but they can't apply it with primary skills. They must rely on the team or their secondary.
